“Without courage we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.” - Maya Angelou
Welcome to Mr. Ellis’s AmLit Virtual Classroom, dedicated to exploring the American experience through literature and media, and to improving your own language skills so you can participate in "the great conversation".
Here you will find treasures that reveal themselves slowly, upon reflection - or sometimes immediately in a flash of recognition or insight. You will find stories, articles, poems, videos clips, slideshows, links to TedTalks, inspirational quotes and more. You will also find grammar exercises, critical reading practice, and writing guidance. But unless you engage with the site, it won't help you. So put down the cell phone, for a few minutes anyway, and dig in.
Please be sure to visit the LINKS page and take a couple of minutes to sign up for Reminds, Quizlet, and USA TestPrep. These three tools/resources will be keys to your success in our class. If you’re having trouble getting signed up for any of these, let me know and we’ll work through it. See you in class!
